Art is a subconscious understanding of our visual intellect to perceive our world. Inside the minds of any artist lies a spiritual vision of creativity. As an artist, I have found that I may not express myself openly to the world but when I use a brush or pencil to express an idea I find that subconsciously I reveal an inner essence of perspective. What I attempt to achieve is a way of expressing an extremely deep idea but to let the viewer reveal what they perceive. I do not believe that all work I produce is to describe who I am but to open up the mind of the viewer, so that it may inspire them to look inside themselves and understand that every work of art always has something to do with someone. My goal is to dazzle the viewer with an image that may remind them of a time in their own lives. To be an artist is to be human and to be connected to not only your own subconscious but to be aware of what is being perceived. Art is something none of us can define but art can exist everywhere in our lives whether it's a painting or something you see on a Billboard. Art is everywhere, art is everything and art is everyone.

As an instructor, my goal is to guide each student through many basics to obtain greatness and consistency. In the beginning many struggle to understand what is being expressed. I, the instructor, am here to guide and to direct you to visualize an understanding of drawing and painting. When you look at anything you must realize that everything is a shape and form that describes an object. If you can forget about the image and see it as an abstract shape, your subconscious will interpret exactly what is being seen onto a surface. Light is one of the most important aspects of drawing and painting. It illuminates the color and the shade of tone of any object and subject matter. I enjoy watercolor because of its natural application on the surface. Oil painting is a very intense but probably the most effective when it comes to style and application. I enjoy charcoal for the discipline and the richness of layers in rendering that are applied. When I begin any work I try to keep things simple in thumbnail format and then apply specific ideas and intensify a center of focus that is not necessarily the center. I try to have each piece tell a story and express an idea. Some pieces are not as obvious as others but will dazzle the mind with the illumination of color and space.
